About Stone Veneer Siding

Manufactured stone veneer is one of the highest-ROI exterior upgrades available for Indiana homes. Installed correctly — over a proper drainage plane and integrated flashing — it lasts indefinitely.

Manufactured stone is portland cement and aggregates molded and colored to mimic natural stone. It's about a third the weight of real stone, installs without structural reinforcement, and costs materially less per square foot.

Installation detail is everything. The 2016 industry standard for stone veneer requires a drainage plane and weep details — two layers of WRB and a drainage mat — to prevent water from being trapped against sheathing. Older installs without this detail are responsible for the rotted-sheathing stories you hear about stone veneer.

Wainscot, accent walls, column wraps, and chimney surrounds are all common applications. We coordinate with your siding install when stone is part of a broader exterior refresh.
